Good Fun with Family

At the end of the week we went to Muncie, IN to visit my older sister, Kristy whose husband, Peter, just started his family practice residency at Ball Memorial Hospital. We are so thrilled to have family so close!
Our first stop was the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. We've been wanting to check out some exhibits there for some time. Perfect timing too because we met my good friend, Katherine there with her kids. Katherine just moved to Indianapolis so that her husband could start his Orthopedic surgery residency.

One of the exhibits was a Curious George exhibit. Since Jacob is a BIG curious george fan, we figured he'd get a kick out of it. Jacob did, and was sure excited to see Kassie again!

Rachel likes Curious George too. Probably because that's all she ever sees on the T.V.!


They also had a water table and sand table. Kassie is in front and you can barely see Rachel poking her head out between all the big people.


After we were done, I asked Jacob what his favorite part was. The obvious answer: the TRAINS! Next favorite thing? Riding the elevators. The train display was really cool. There was an actual steam engine which would ring it's bell and pretend to chug along. They also had a caboose to walk though and a mock up of a real train station. Jacob wanted to stay and play with the train table forever. We found a model railroad and Michael and Jacob watched the train go around and through the tunnel multiple times.

We went to find a water park with the kids and some of Kristy's friends and their kids. It was really fun. We've got some great fountains here in Columbus but this park was just as cool. Although it was a little chilly, the kids loved it.

We checked out the local mall and found a carousel for the kids to ride on.


The guys had some fun fixing while we were there. The dishwasher decided not to drain so with Kristy on the internet as the handyman expert, Peter pulled out his toolbox and got to work. Somewhere along "I NEED HELP!" Michael joined in the fun. Good news: the dishwasher now works again! Running joke: How many doctors does it take to fix a dishwasher?


Rachel was smitten with baby Josh. She woke him up several times trying to poke him or push his swing for him.



Jacob and Katelyn couldn't get enough play time in. Peter commented on how nice it is to have another 3 year old who actually plays "3 year old" all day long. That way mommy and daddy don't have to. Right on Peter!
