Keeping Busy

Emma is now 4 months old! When did that happen? On the other hand...she's ONLY 4 months old?! She's such a happy baby. All smiles. She saves some of her biggest smiles for Jacob. She sleeps really well. A real text book baby. She cries for 5-10 minutes and then takes an hour and a half nap. She goes to bed at 7:30 and gets up a few times to eat at night. We're still working on the eating at night part. But when she's happy during the day, it's a little hard to complain! Emma's been rolling over for about 2 weeks now and can't seem to figure out how to roll back! But she's determined and keeps on rolling no matter how frustrated she gets.

Notice the cute little curl on the back of her head. It always makes me think of my grandfather and how he would joke with us girls that he was having a "bad bangs day" because he couldn't get his curls to go where he wanted them to! Michael thinks we should tie a bow around them. Ummm....no.

Rachel is really into princesses now. She wanted to make a crown the other day so we got out some construction paper. She decorated her crown with a princess and prince, a star, bear, and her friends, Grace, Owen, Brooke and Blake. She was pretty excited to wear that crown.

I don't know why laundry baskets are so much fun, but they are. Probably because the kids use them for everything BUT their intended use! Jacob and Rachel were taking turns being in a "house", knocking on the door and then answering the password with their full names. FOr some reason they're obsessed with knowing everyone's full name. They're pretty good at remembering although sometimes they get mixed up and call me 'mommy-Katie-Simpson" We're still working on the Sarah katherine part!

We're keeping busy enjoying the summer, working in the garden (which is overflowing!), running errands, building train tracks, sewing and reading stories. Yep, life is good!
