Snow Days

After a winter of THIS:

And THIS: (a.k.a. freezing rain which if very pretty, but cold and REALLY hard to drive on)...

...We woke up to THIS!

We got about 4 inches that day and we're still accumulating. Of course, the insanely low temperatures (below 0) make it easier because the previous snow doesn't melt. Sound familiar you Idahoans?

But if it was warm, I wouldn't get gorgeous pictures like THIS. (that's a cardinal in case you can't tell)

Nor would we get memories like THESE. We've played in the snow for a few days but on Saturday, Daddy was home and we had just bought a 5$ disc at Wal-Mart. The fun just jumped to a whole new level.

We got to use our little snow hill that we've been piling up for the last 4 days. It's not very tall, but just right for little legs. The kids LOVED it! Plus our snow was all powder so the sled slid for quite a ways!

Jacob really likes playing in the snow. He had a great time with Michael because they could make snow angels and roll and shoosh in the snow. Mommy's not quite built for that right now!

And the best part about playing in the snow? Hot cocoa of course! And at the rate we're going, I'm going to need to get some more from the cannery pretty soon...
