Well, I suppose the accident came first.
After lunch on Friday, Rachel was being silly and tripped and fell. (Not a surprise, if she isn't already on the ground, she's probably in the act of falling!) She hit the hinge on the computer armoire and had a deep cut on her eyebrow. It wasn't too long (about an inch) but was pretty deep. Since urgent care was not open yet (Darn it!) we took her down to Children's.
After 4 hours of waiting and fussing, she was finally stitched up and snuggling a hospital stuffed bear Jacob picked out with the nurse. Thus began the never ending vigil of keep rachel from falling AGAIN and keeping her from tearing off her bandaid and picking at her "owie". Our shadowing paid off until Tuesday when she quietly woke up from her nap, houdini-ed her way out of her homemade straight jacket and pulled out half of the running stitch. We decided that it was okay to not stitch it up again and so far she's still healing. Let's hope she can leave it alone long enough!
Now for the fun: We took Jacob to the Hocking Valley Railroad where on Saturdays you can buy a ticket and ride the train for a short 2 hour ride. Jacob couldn't have been happier. Even Rachel had a good time. We rode in a 1920's passenger car and crossed bridges, roads and listened to the train whistle.
