Rachel's been climbing much more lately. She practices death defying balancing acts on precarious ledges to prove to herself that she is a master of nimbleness and strength. Actually she just keeps getting herself into situations where she can get hurt. She loves to grap our banister pole and swing around it...and then climb up the outside of the stairs. Today she occupied herself for about 15 minutes balancing on her knees on our toy fire engine (the kind you can ride). I'm really glad she's getting a sense of balance and physical accomplishment but I've got to keep a close eye on her!
We found this puzzle at the store and Jacob latched onto it. We worked on it and he helped me put the pieces in. Boy was he excited when that big black engine took shape! He was also excited about the green passenger car.
Another one of Rachel's explorations. Jacob likes to take the cushions off the couches and when he does, Rachel is capable of climbing onto it. She had a good time climbing from level to level, peeking over the back out the window and sitting on the lower part. And she only fell once.
This is the very first time Rachel wore pigtails. Her hair is so long in the back but short on top. We either have to cut it or pull it back. I opted for pulling it back. Our little baby girl actually looks like a girl now!

Cute, cute, cute!!! You may consider rock climbing lessons for the little miss. That's what we did with Alex when we found him climbing the inside walls at Macaroni Grill when he was 4.
Hi Katie, What a beautiful family picture at the top of your blog. You look great! I have been thinking of you this week as I have been trying to make a couple of hooded towels like the one you made clare. It is everyones favorite.

yes i say go for the pigtails. when they are short like that and stick out they are so adorable. and before you know it she'll be jumping off the couch!
