Wow, where has the time gone!? We had a great Christmas. Jacob was old enough to really make the holiday exciting and Rachel always makes EVERYTHING exciting! To celebrate, we made gingerbread houses, faithfully added to our advent calendar, made cookies, wrapped presents, and Jacob had a preschool program.
He didn't really sing much, although I know he knew the songs because he sang them all at home. It was really cute watching all of the kids and the songs they sang were fun. Way to go Jacob!
We had our first snowfall of the year shortly before Christmas (and then it rained Christmas eve. Go figure). Jacob helped me make a snowman and Rachel basically fell down. A lot. On purpose. Gotta love snow days!
Michael got to play a little too. By "play" I mean shovel the driveway. Actually he and Jacob spent some quality time throwing snowballs into the air and watching them crash into the ground. Notice Rachel falling down again...
Merry Christmas! Christmas morning occurred around 8am and the kids enjoyed opening their stockings. Then we had a tradional (of 1 year) breakfast of Christmas waffles topped with ice cream, chocolate sauce, fuit, whipped cream or anything else that sounds good. Then we got the kids dressed and got started on the presents under the tree. It was so much fun. And pretty gratifying for the parent(s) who spent so much time getting/making just the right gift. Most of them turned out really well.
Michael's parents came for Christmas so the kids were extra excited. Jacob told me that all he wanted for Christmas were presents and Grandpa. That's all. Having the grandparents here was a lot of fun. They went with us to Cincinnati to see a legendary model train display. They went sledding with Michael and the kids (which was raved about for a while), they played countless games with the kids and took better pictures on Christmas morning that we did.

Per grandparents request, we took a family picture. What better to wear than our BYU blues? Oh, and Jacob wants me to tell you not to look at his shirt. And yes, Rachel IS smiling!
